Spanish immersion program in Guatemala
Study one on one with full room
and board with a local family

What students say about us
I have learned so much at Xinabajul Spanish School. I had
never studied Spanish ever before and this experience has been
wonderful. I came here with the intention of staying for a few weeks
but I ended up staying for a month and a half. The teachers here are
very friendly and you can tell how much experience they have had
teaching this language. I have studied with four different teachers,
Sheny, Otto (who are the directors of the school) and Erwin and Myrna.
They all have years of teaching experience and although they each have
differences in their teaching styles they are all excellent. I have had
a good time biking and playing soccer with Otto. During the weekends I
have explored various areas around Huehuetenango like Todos Santos and
Laguna Magdalena. Overall it has been a great experience.
Andrew
This was my first experience with studying at a Spanish School
in a Spanish-speaking country. I had a few years of Spanish classes in
high school and I traveled to Mexico and Costa Rica, but I never felt
secure in my language skills. In just 2 months here I have learned so
much more than my classes and travels combined. My level of confidence
has greatly increased at this school. For me, I found the perfect
balance of structured lessons in writing, verb forms and grammar along
with practical conversation in and outside of classes. I’ve
also really appreciated the friendly, familial and even comical
atmosphere that I have found here at Xinabajul. I realized that you can
learn a lot of Spanish through jokes! I had so much fun going on bike
rides in the mountains and visiting surrounding towns, all with their
own unique flavors. In addition to my successful experience at the
school, I love the family that I stayed with. They really made me feel
so welcome and comfortable. I’ve made some very special
friends at my home here. Also, I feel satisfied with the world
perspective I have gained here in getting to know the genuine culture
of this area. ¡Gracias Xinabajul!
